CellAegis Devices is an early stage company commercializing intellectual property from the Hospital for Sick Children to develop a safe, non-invasive, and cost-effective medical device that automates a preconditioning protocol.   In clinical trials remote ischemic preconditioning patients has been shown to reduce the magnitude of a heart attack by up to 50%.  Based in Toronto, Canada, the patented device is based on the clinical work of Dr. Andrew Redington and colleagues who are part of the Fondation Leducq TransAtlantic network.
